Medecins Sans Frontieres Begins Work in Yemen

Dr. Susan Turner is a New York-based psychiatrist and medical professional with over 16 years of experience in the area of patient care. During this time, Dr. Susan Turner has supported a variety of nonprofit organizations, such as Medecins Sans Frontieres (MSF), perhaps better known as Doctors Without Borders.

Since its creation over four decades ago, MSF has expanded to operate in countries around the world, helping to highlight, and tackle, various large-scale medical emergencies. Most recently, the nonprofit has moved into Yemen, where it notes that citizens are unable to access medical care as a result of war and the subsequent collapse of the country’s economy.
MSF has worked with several medical facilities in the country since establishing itself there, such as the Ibb-based Dhi As Sufal hospital, which has been relatively unaffected by the ongoing war in the country. Since entering Yemen, the nonprofit has been able to provide much-needed medical care to citizens, many of which are unable to afford private healthcare, which was often the only option available without the ongoing work that the charity provides.
